Regardless of the event, the player will still receive a gift from her the next day via a letter. If Katie misses the train, it is for one of two reasons. If she missed the train, she will say in a letter that she got the next one. If she is taken to the train station, she will either get on the train with the player, or lose her ticket and miss the train as a result. If the player attempts to visit anywhere in their town other than the train station, the player will be presented to whether to hold Katie's interest to visit other towns. She will stay in the player's town for a day until they talk with her and decide to take her with them. If she visits the player's town, she will be seen walking around and may ask if she could be taken to a friend's town.
Katie is older in New Leaf than she was in previous games, and now travels without her mother from town to town, despite that fact she will be grateful for traveling with her instead of alone. ― Katie, New Leaf, first time meeting as mayor. “ What? No way! You're the mayor?! Hi, Mayor! ” She may also appear more than once in the player's town. The rewards stay the same, except pictures don't make an appearance in the game. She retains the same appearance and characteristics, by not entering buildings the player may enter when she is helped home as well as tripping over when she is hurried. Her role in City Folk is unchanged from her role in Wild World. When she is returned to Kaitlin, the player will receive a letter in the mail the next day with a present attached. She also may fall over if the player moves too quickly and she begins to fall behind, and will cry as a result. If the player enters another building, she will not enter but when they exit the building she can be found crying, asking them where they were. If the player chooses to return her to her to her mother, Kaitlin, she will follow the them to the Town Gate. If her request is refused, she will start sniveling instead of crying.
When talked to, she will tell them that she has been separated from her mother and will beg for them to take her back to the town that was visited or the town from where the player was visiting from. In New Horizons, Katie will mention wanting to get her mother a souvenir (though she has trouble pronouncing the word) if you invite her to The Roost.In Wild World, shortly after visiting another town via Wi-fi, either one of the players may find Katie crying in their town.However, systems that can communicate locally will allow Kaitlin to be seen. Kaitlin can no longer be encountered as of via Wi-Fi due to Nintendo terminating Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, thus visiting a friend's town is no longer possible in Wild World and City Folk.This makes her the only other character besides Champ that does not appear in this game after being only in both Wild World and City Folk. In New Leaf, Kaitlin does not appear due to the fact that Katie has grown older and is capable of traveling on her own.This suggests she was gardening at the time Katie disappeared. In City Folk she is seen holding a trowel or a hand shovel- a gardening tool that does not appear in the game.This suggests she was cooking at the time Katie disappeared. In Wild World, Kaitlin is seen holding a spatula.Kaitlin has two eyelashes on each eye, instead of one like her daughter. Kaitlin looks nearly identical to her daughter, but wears a green apron with a white fish on it and has big, red lips. However, the original player will receive nothing. They will be reunited and, a day later, the friend will receive a thank you gift. The player should then open their town gates, where a friend will have escorted Katie to the player's town and reunite Katie to Kaitlin. She will tell the player that she is missing her daughter, Katie, and believes she may have been left in another town. She appears after the player has visited one of their friend's town. Kaitlin ( おかあさん, Okaa-san ?, Mother) is a special cat who is the mother of Katie. WW, CF, Geijōban Dōbutsu no Mori “ Oh, pickles! I do hope she's still in ! My poor, naughty kitten.
